Training content that can be created as fast as the programme grows

An organisation bridging labour markets between countries needed to deliver care-skills and language training at scale. We built a learning platform with assisted content generation and approval built into it.

The organisation

Context

An organisation connecting employers in one country with a workforce trained in another, in home-care and support roles.

Doing that credibly means delivering two things at once: the professional skills to a specific national standard, and the language competence to work in it.

The brief

The problem

  • Producing training content to a national quality standard is slow, and the programme's growth was limited by that rate.
  • Content had to be reviewed and approved before it reached learners, and the approval route was informal.
  • Learners arrive with different starting points in both skills and language, so uniform content serves most of them badly.
  • Trainers and learners were working across separate tools with no shared view of progress.
The work

What we built

A modern learning management platform

Serving learners and trainers from one place.

An assisted training-content generator

So a subject expert shapes and reviews material rather than authoring every piece from nothing.

Approval workflows

So nothing reaches a learner without passing a named reviewer — which matters when the content is claiming to teach to a national standard.

A single-platform, multi-solution model

So personalised learning paths, language training and skills training coexist rather than requiring separate systems.

Method

How we delivered it

  1. 1

Define the quality bar and the approval route

First, because they constrain everything the generator is allowed to do.

  2. 2

    Build the platform core

    Courses, learners, trainers, progress, assessment.

  3. 3

    Add assisted generation

Always producing a draft into the approval workflow rather than into a learner's hands.

  4. 4

    Add personalisation

Once there was enough structured content to personalise across.

  5. 5

    Pilot with one cohort

    Through a complete programme.

What the client keeps

  • The platform and its source
  • The content library as structured data
  • Approval workflow configuration
  • The quality standard as documentation
  • Learner progress data
